Etiquette of Speaking

Muhammad Ibn Kaab Al Quraji narrated a narration of Ibn Ishaq and Baihaqi about the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) -- All the chiefs of Quraysh gathered around the Kaaba. A long discussion took place about the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) -- This religion has destroyed our dreams, calling the religion of our ancestors evil. It has brought something that has not been seen in our long history. In the meantime, the chief of Quraysh, Utbah, started speaking. He said, "A thought has come to my mind, I will make some proposals to Muhammad. Even if he does not accept the proposals, he can do something. If he accepts the proposal, I will give him whatever he wants. In this way, he will stop preaching his religion." Everyone agreed with Utbah's words. Utbah slowly walked towards the house of the Prophet (peace be upon him). He went to the Prophet and said, "Nephew! You know that you are a very moderate person among us. And of high lineage. You have brought an unprecedented matter that has caused a rift among your people. And many children have disobeyed their fathers. So I have brought you some proposals. I hope you will like the proposals. Perhaps you will accept some of them." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "O Abu al-Walid! Say, I am listening." He said, "Nephew, if the purpose of your mission is to acquire wealth, then tell us. We will give you this much wealth; you will be the wealthiest among us. And if you want leadership and prestige, we will make you the leader, and your word will be the final word. If you want kingship, we will make you the king. And if you are bewitched or fall ill, we will arrange for appropriate treatment and cure for him. We will bear all his expenses."
Utbah ibn Rabi'ah was talking to the Prophet (peace be upon him) in such a foolish way that he said in a knowing tone - If a jinn has corrupted your mind, we will arrange for its advanced treatment. (Think about it, what would you do if such an offer was made to you? How would you behave towards people who doubt you? Usually, you would not be able to control yourself after hearing such words.) However, the Prophet (peace be upon him) listened to him silently the entire time. He did not feel the slightest bit annoyed. He listened to him with utmost attention. When he finished speaking, the Prophet (peace be upon him) raised his head and said - Abu Walid, have you finished speaking? He said yes. Here the Prophet Muhammad's sense of decency and decency is revealed. The Prophet (peace be upon him) did not speak until he finished speaking, but rather asked if he had anything else to say; so that there would be no hesitation in him. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said in a gentle voice - now listen to me. Ha-Mim, revealed from the Most Merciful and Merciful.
""If they turn away, then say: I warn you of a thunderbolt like that which struck Thamud and Ad, when the Messengers came before them and behind them."" Surah Fussilat: 13-14. Then he recited some more verses. Suddenly Utbah stood up. Then he put his hand on the Prophet's mouth and said: O Muhammad, by Allah, be silent now. Utbah was overwhelmed by the effect of the verse. Utbah's entire being was filled with a thrill. Thus he returned to his group. The lesson here is that stopping when speaking, no matter how trivial the matter, is not polite or dignified.
